Android Question Arm images in AVD

Hi all,

New to B4A. Just installed a few SDK's and images. When I go to AVD Manager I can only see x86 images and non of the arm images I downloaded. How can I create an arm image in AVD Manager? I am using B4A version 9.8.

Please note I am unable to install HAXM due to limited permissions.

You should use a x86 or x86_64 emulator. The arm emulators were extremely slow and unusable.

Thanks for the reply. So basically if HAXM is not installed I will not be able to run the app in any emulator?

Better to use a real device during development.

If you can't install HAXM then don't use the emulator. As I wrote, the arm emulators are unusable. Especially with newer versions of Android.

I am stuck. I tried to connect my samsung device to B4A bridge and it cannot see the phone. I downloaded the app onto my phone. Does the phone need to be on same network? I am unable to install phone drivers on OS due to install permissions. The pc I am using does not have wifi.

Yes. Must be on the same local network.
With wifi you can also connect to the device hotspot if there is no network.

Can I use usb tethering instead of wifi? The is no wifi adapter in the pc. Also is this possible without installing any additional drivers onto pc?

USB tethering will not help. You can use USB debug mode without a network, however it requires installing a USB driver.

Thanks for the reply. Seems I will be unable to run B4A properly unless I have admin privileges or run B4A in a virtual OS.
