Erel B4X founder Staff member Licensed User Longtime User Nov 12, 2012 #5 It is possible that in the future there will be support for other platforms. It will be difficult to reuse Basic4android assets for an iOS solution as iOS SDK doesn't support Windows. Focusing on a single platform has many advantages and is one of the reasons that Basic4android is a powerful solution for Android. Upvote 0

Not a workable solution IMHO if you want native code performance. B4A is unlike anything out there since you end up with native Java code. I tried DragonFireSDK for iOS development (which uses Visual Studio and C++). It was nowhere near as good as B4A - this coming from a Windows Mobile developer of many years who knows C++. Upvote 0

J jschuchert Active Member Licensed User Longtime User Nov 14, 2012 #9 Good point but I was only offering an alternative for rleiman to create ios apps. I have had a measure of success with both platforms but by no means would consider myself a "real programmer". However, NSB does offer the user an option to build native apps with phonegap. Upvote 0

Erel B4X founder Staff member Licensed User Longtime User Nov 14, 2012 #10 AFAIK PhoneGap doesn't really create native applications. It uses an embedded WebView to run your program. Upvote 0

J jschuchert Active Member Licensed User Longtime User Nov 14, 2012 #11 Thank you, Erel. B4A is the anchor for my android version and very, very capable of doing what I need but since 'Basic' is the only language I am comfortable with, I needed something for an ios version, even with its limitations.
