I have a growing (not fact based enough) feeling that schools are one of the major causes for the wide spreading. It is a combination of:
- High congestion.
- Kids are more asymptomatic which means it is more difficult to detect the infection and cut the chain. The infection rate will be high.
- Kids are less likely to keep "social distance" and wear the mask for many hours.
- This is a very heterogenic grouping.
There is a scale here that goes between a family on one side, friends / colleagues in the middle and completely "random" people on the other side.
This is the case with schools were many kids from all over the area are gathered and a single infected kid or teacher can infect dozens of families.
