It's been several years since I worked with background services and GPS. Back before the changes in androids' handling of services/receivers. I'm giving it another try with a new app now. I'm trying to use the FusedLocationProviderGMS library...

... to keep providing me with gps coordinates while the app is in the background. I do have the app working while the code is in either the B4XMainPage activity or the Starter service and the app is in the foregound. It works very well. Now, I'm having difficulty in determining how to do this while in the background. I've tried putting the code in a separate Service and also a Receiver. I was able to get the Receiver to start up every 30 seconds (StartReceiverAt()), while in the background, but wasn't able to get the library to report back any updated coordinates when doing it.

Any hints? I've read a lot on the forum about the new Receiver module but it doesn't seem to really be sinking in for me. At least not on this project. I'll see if I can extract relevant code from the project in a day or so, if that helps.
