Google Play Developer - verification deadline email (D-U-N-S)

Hi there...

Lately we "all" (not sure for this) getting emails like this... and i want to ask...

about DUNS number and why this is required for companies... as I can understand is only for business/prof account and not for personal...

1. What benefits you have if you have business acount at Google Play Developer ?
2. What exactly is DUNS number ? (it says is free, but in Greece, have it a different company name ICAP... so i don;t know it is real free or need to pay something to them, or if gonna asking every some months for statistics of company)

Any idea ?

DUNS is required in app store if you are a company. I created one, even i live in Greece. It's completely free and it's an easy procedure.

a. Did you contacted ICAP via email?
b. what info-papers need if you are a company / or personal business ?
c. do they ask every some month statistics - and need to send them ?

Nope. I just contacted with DUNS. If i remember well, i did the whole procedure through app store site when i changed my indi account to a personal business

If i remember well again, VAT number, ID and starting business documents (έναρξη απο ΔΟΥ). They called me at my phone number in order to verify some details.

Can I switch my membership from an individual to an organization?

Yes, if you’re the founder/cofounder of the organization. To start the conversion process, please contact us. You may be asked to submit business documents to verify your organization’s identity.

hmm... now when you are going to DUNS site and selecting Greece / company -> redirecting to ICAP site (Greek representative)

By the way, App store mentions this:
"If your legal status is a sole proprietorship/single person business, enroll as an individual"

Dear yiankos1...

I ve already read that and Google's rules about DUNS... but in Greece we also have personal-business as you know (one-person-business and not exactly companies)... can;t understand if it will be Company or Individual ?

As App Store mentions, "If your legal status is a sole proprietorship/single person business, enroll as an individual"
Maybe it is the same in Google.

I think that i should not enrolled as company, as i am single person business too

Well, you know - before 1 year had company - but now transform it into single-person business.... outside of Greece, there is no such thing... all named as companies... LTD is the smallest as I know...

Just received call from ICAP (sent them email too) !!! very fast (or they are not having "work/job" at all ?)

1) They said me if need fast DUNS number (hahahaha) ..... must pay them... to do it fast !! (Yes the greek way, as you know, pay and get it fast -not said the amount), if not they will send me a document that i must write all my info and send them via email... to process it in about 20 days... and will send me the DUNS number i ll get.. (i selected this)
2) Asked them about next year cost... and said me that there is not...
3) They also said me to do the Form/Documentation submit every year - to have the latest info of business.

I am waiting the email... i will post here for Greek - Personal Companies / members of forum...

I have sent them an email too, in order to verify my DUNS number. No answer till now. Maybe, i have to fill the form again, if i have to do it yearly.

I received that mail, too but I have only one free app in the store. I don't have nor want to have an business account. I simply wait for the reminder and see what they exactly want as I don't run any business nor have a company.

I had it first like business account change at personal... today (after email)... and asked me for phone verification / site verification / email verification... all ok... but ofcourse will ask again at the deadline (hope not come zombies from graves)

I will switch to business when i get DUNS from ICAP... to see what will ask..
