Maperetive & MapNik Maps

Hi there,

I want to grab a full country map for my personal use and some free apps...

Old days use Mobile Atlas but now days start using the Maperetive...

I want to use with osmdroid in b4a and jmappane with b4j...

My problem is that not gives the result i want it grabs very unzoomed the areas .... i want more zooming from 3 to 17 scale... for whole country...

All days doing that... now i can;t for some reason of grab map apps...

How i will do that... ?

Also found *.osm.pbf files that saying include whole country and any zoom level.... but how i can extract those to .png files/folders so osmdroid can read them .... ????

Hi, you can not directly get pngs from a pbf file. there are some steps to do. pbf is a sort of database format for osm data and contains pairs of keys and values. You should dive into OSM a bit to understand the concept of it. Then there are several ways to produce maptiles with your own style, if you want to do this. here are some links to start with:

I ve been reading for hours.. So is there any tool to get mapnik maptiles in png files for whole country for all zoom levels 5~18 or 19... ?

Because every tool i ve tried all work with zooms 5~9 for countries and 7~12 for towns :-( nothing more...
+ many tools not work...

Searched only for Windows... but if there is a good solution i have ubuntu in virtualbox..

is there something good ?
