Just FYI: Masked EditText uses a very different code for the floating hint from the one of FloatLabeledEditText so to be compatible with as many devices and Android versions as possible.

So now you could have a button or any other piece of your code programmed to close a displaying picker, setting its internal no-selection-made flag. Maybe a button, maybe a timer to allow the user to make a selection only in a set timeframe; it's your choice. Thanks to @grafsoft who asked for this feature. udg
