Android Question Web view title bar?

I have a simple app that displays a few web pages. On the android phone each page shows a title bar at the top with a phone icon and a map icon. On the Nexus tablet there is no title bar. Is there a way to turn off or remove the title bar when running the app on a phone?

This bar is part of the website, right?

The site probably uses a responsive design that shows different elements based on the page size.

not sure where it comes from since it is there on a phone but not on a tablet. l am not a web person, I thought there might be a property in the web view view control to disable it.
