phone not showing up as a device on B4A after upgrade (windows 8 and B4A 2.22)

I upgraded my laptop to windows 8 as well as B4A to 2.22. In the past B4A always saw my phone (samsung galaxy note), now it does not see the phone BUT windows does (as does kris, samsung's tool for administering the phone)

I don't see any options in the B4A IDE to add/look for a device and as I stated earlier before the upgrades (both of em) whenever I plugged in my phone B4A always saw it.

any suggestions welcomed

Basic4android calls 'adb devices' to get the list of devices. You can try it yourself from the command line (adb is part of Android SDK).

Seems like a driver issue. Try to reinstall the ADB driver.

Note that you can also use B4A-Bridge.
