Offer separate Hotkeys for Search and Quick search?
Please split the Search and Search / Replace function.
It is really dangerous, that a User execute Search/Replace by accident,
although he only wanted to search but was forced to use the Search/Replace dialog, because Quick search has bugs.
Because all other well-known IDEs work this way and the B4A Usability does not offer improvements, it would be great if B4A could offer the great working solutions, too.
It would be great if Search would be able to search the project and not only the selection or current file :-(
F3 does not always work (if the Search/Replace dialog is already open, nothing happens) -
or at least, it does not work as expected from many other IDEs, because F3 usually finds the next matching position if there is already a search term - VERY useful
F3 or Ctrl + H
This is not "non-quick Search" but "Search / Replace"
The well known single responsibility principle in software engineering is very useful in GUIs, too,
therefore, it would be great if
- Ctrl + h opens Search / Replace
- Ctrl + ??? opens non-quick search
The main search feature in the IDE is the quick search. It works very good and it is very useful. Note that you can also replace from the quick search results.
In the rare cases where you want to search for a single character then use the non-quick search dialog.
Excactly - and then, we have to open each file individually, because the non-quick search dialog is not able to search all files in the project :-(
I'm very sorry, but this is very annoying.
