How Lognote Helps People in Everyday Life and Work

In 2021 I created Lognote, a simple app to write notes with clear timestamps. I was frustrated by another app where the date and time were never in the same place. I wanted every note to look consistent, so I built my own version and published it.

At first I left the app alone while I worked on other projects. Then at the end of 2022 I received a message on Instagram from someone who used Lognote every day as a team leader in an ambulance service. He needed an export feature for his weekly reports. That was the first time I realized the app was not just a small side project but something that really helped people.

In May 2023 I checked the Apple dashboard and saw that more than one thousand people were already using Lognote regularly. Until then I had only added the export option and fixed a few bugs. A year later someone even joined the B4X forum just to post a feature request. That gave me the motivation to redesign everything and release Lognote 2.0 in September 2024.

From that point the numbers started growing. In November 2024 I added a Premium version with extra features like photos, priorities and favorites. The free version stayed fully functional, because I did not want to remove anything people were already using. To my surprise the Premium option was quickly accepted and this gave me even more energy to continue.

What motivates me most are the stories from users. A crew member on a ship in the Pacific Ocean who uses Lognote to record his rounds in the machine room and during inspections on the ship. A midwife who writes down the exact time of complications during childbirth. Private investigators keeping track of their findings. People who must record when they take their medication during a difficult health period. Messages like these remind me that Lognote has become useful in many different situations.

Today the app has more than six thousand downloads. With the new website I hope even more people will discover it. There is still plenty to do, but I am excited to see where Lognote will go next.
