I joined the Australian Navy straight after school, so I am a qualified Electronics Technician. Specialising in Computers (not PC's), RADAR, SONAR and other digital electronics. So then after leaving, I took up IT, specifically in support and administration. So now, 25 years later, I'm an IT consultant, specialising in Infrastructure.
Oh yeah, I've been programming since 1984, and continue programming today. I'm currently working on a system to convert Visio documents into dependency diagrams for System Centre Operations Manager and System Centre Service Manager. It analyses each of the systems you document, creates Management Packs for input into SCOM and finally produces a runbook that dictates the order that you turn on each of your x (this client has 600) Servers. Pretty cool stuff, I don't think anyone else is doing anything similar.
In my spare time I like to work on my Nissan 300ZX, which I recently converted from Normally Aspirated to Twin Turbo. It's now making 355HP at the wheels, so I'm pretty happy with it.
Oh yeah, and of course I wrote (and continue to improve) the B4X Object Browser.
That makes me an Electronics Technician, Programmer, Analyst, Consultant, Mechanic, Welder and Father.
