From my understanding, B4A and B4i are not developed using B4J. B4A v1.00 (formerly known as Basic4Android) was released back in Dec 8, 2010. B4J v1.00 was released in Dec 4, 2013. B4i v1.00 was released in Nov 12, 2014.

B4A, B4J and B4i IDEs share a lot of common code. They are written in C# using Windows Presentation Foundation and an (enhanced by Erel) third party editor control from Actipro Software whose dlls you can see in the IDEs installation folders.
